Becoming a Rotarian
Membership is vital to a Rotary club's operations. This club welcomes enthusiastic and service-minded men and women to become new members.
Prospective members must actively hold - or be retired from - a professional, proprietary, executive or managerial position. If you are interested in becoming involved please do not attempt to guess at our interpretation of this rule. The Secretary will be happy to advise you. You must have the desire and ability to serve and to meet the club's attendance requirements for its weekly meetings. Following changes in 2001 this is now much easier to achieve. The club seeks to draw members from a wide variety of occupations. In this manner it is assured of having the widest possible resources and expertise at its disposal. The Membership processA person being considered for membership is invited by a member to attend one or more Club Meetings to learn more About Rotary. The sponsor may then submit the name of the candidate to begin the evaluation process. Others who are interested in membership, but don't know any Rotarians, can contact their local club Secretary. If you are interested in joining this club, you can Contact the club secretary on line. Prospective Rotarians should appreciate that in meeting weekly, and in helping to organize service to the Community in the company of like minded people, they can enjoy a great deal of fun and fellowship. Whilst not a debating society, Rotary can offer people the experience of discussing topics in front of a medium sized audience and making presentations to the membership. It could give you a wider view of Doncaster, its people and events and provide experience of running projects and interacting with diverse groups. Regular speakers could inform you of some of the more unusual walks of life, interests and commitments which local people are keen to share. It can significantly help people still pursuing a career by building confidence and through opportunities for networking.
